2015 DAAP Industrial Design Student Showcase
Today Switch is pleased to be hosting the 2015 DAAP Industrial Design Students from University of Cincinnati. For the past few years, Switch has been taking part in the student’s final project by way of offering our lighting knowledge and expertise. The project is for the students to create their own unique lighting fixture. Here’s a few from the past year we loved:
Be sure to stop into the showroom tonight (Friday, April 24) between 6:00 and 9:00 PM to check out the student’s work as well as meet them and discuss their works!
Switch’s Lighting of the Globe
The Globe Building that now houses People’s Liberty has been open for a week or two at this point. Switch is proud to have provided the lighting for this wonderful space. Today we want to highlight some of the main features we provided!
This space in the kitchen is meant for ‘family dinners’. It features a cluster of Graypants Scraplights. Scraplights are made up of recycled card board, and are created ins Seattle. They add a nice texture to this lovely space!
We have a few Scotch Club fixtures by Marset through out the space in various sitting or meeting areas. Marset is located in Barcelona, Spain, and Scotch Club is made out of ceramics.
Pleat Box, Scotch Club’s brother, is hanging in a cluster of various colors and sizes over the conference table. The repeating ceramic fixtures through out the space help to keep the whole building integrated.
If you haven’t stopped by to see the restored Globe Building yet, you really should!

Home & Garden Show Wrap Up
This past week has been a calm one compared to the busy bustling of the Home & Garden Show going on the past two weeks. While we’re glad to have a bit of a break, we also miss seeing all of our friends and making new ones at the show! Take a look at some of our photos we took during the 2015 Home & Garden show:

Today we are going to share with you the star of our booth this year: Plumgae by Axo Light.
Inspired by the feathers of a tropical bird, Plumage is sure to be a showstopper! It is available in various solid colors, or even a multicolored version, which is the one we chose to headline our booth! Take a look at part of the install process we’ve been working so hard on:
We hope to see all your wonderful faces at the show this weekend! We’re booth number 1201, so be sure to stop by and check out the PLumage and all our other fantastic fixtures. New in the Showroom: Link
Today we are featuring a fixture that we have recently (re) added to our showroom! Link by LZF was in our showroom for awhile before being claimed by a client…. we missed it so much that we’ve decided to reacquire it.
Link is composed of thin strips of wood veneer twisted and piled into an elegant form. The light source shines through the veneer, which creates a warm and inviting glow. Link is available in nine different colors, and multiple sizes and variations. Take a look:

IES Students Meet Mentors Mixer
This week Switch was happy to host over 60 students for the IES Student and Mentor Mixer. This was a casual evening with a few speakers, Italian soda, and horderves in which the students, a mix from University of Kentucky and Miami University, got to mingle with professionals and potential mentors. Take a look at some of our photos from the event:
New in the Showroom: Pleat Box
Today we are featuring a fixture that has recently gained a spot in a our showroom. Take a look at Pleat Box by Marset.
Pleat Box is unique because the outer shell is made up of ceramic, which is available in white, brown, black, terracotta, and grey. The interior is available in enameled white, or, for the more extravagant minded and for a warmer light, pure gold! Check it out:
